2nd Grade Teachers

Donna Carlson
I have been teaching at Cimarron Elementary for eighteen years. Prior to Cimarron, I taught at the Rick’s Center for Gifted and Talented at the University of Denver.
I graduated from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, New Hampshire, and received my master’s in Literacy Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I started my teaching career in Farmington, New Hampshire, teaching first grade for ten years. After teaching in Farmington for one year, I decided to join the military and served in the U. S. Army for four years, returning to Farmington upon my discharge. I continued my service by joining the New Hampshire Army National Guard and, when I moved to Colorado, served in the Colorado Army National Guard, where I retired after completing twenty years.
It is a pleasure and honor to work with your child this year. I am available at any time and look forward to a successful school year.

This will be my 9th year teaching and my first year at Cimarron Elementary and I am lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community.

I am a Colorado native and I currently live in Denver with my tiny dog Peanut. I enjoy spending time with friends and being outdoors. I am an avid runner and I love to hike, camp, and travel. This summer I traveled to Iceland, Ireland and Scotland! I am also a dedicated Colorado sports fan, with the Rockies and the Broncos being my favorites.  I am a CU Boulder alumni (Go Buffs!) and I also received my Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from CU Denver.

Teaching and learning are my greatest passions. I love to see the kids' enthusiasm to learn and the tremendous growth they make throughout the year.

Ashley Dudley
I was born in raised in Colorado, and could not imagine living anywhere else. I love being outdoors with my husband and our two dogs, Lola and Messi. Sports are a big part of my life, whether rooting for the Broncos, or playing third base for two softball teams.

This year marks my 10th year as an educator. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade, and I have loved every part of my journey!  I’ve learned so much from every student I have had the privilege of teaching. This year I look forward to helping to inspire your child to shoot for the stars, and go beyond his/her potential.
